On December 1st, ZEHO ECO signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with the State Key Laboratory of Urban and Regional Ecology of the Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

In the future, under the guidance of the national strategy of ecological civilization development and with the concept of sustainable development at the core, both parties will take “Lead the eco-environmental sector, innovate in technology, and cooperate for a common victory” as their theme of cooperation and focus on fields including urban ecology, landscape ecology, comprehensive water environment remediation, eco-environmental protection and monitoring, ecosystem service functions, ecosystem value assessment, ecosystem value accounting (GEP, i.e. Gross Ecosystem Product), ecological asset management, ecosystem restoration and reconstruction, protection of biodiversity, ecological sustainable development strategies and models, etc.. Both parties will jointly utilize the core advantages of “technology, talents, industry, platform” and coordinate to promote in-depth cooperation in research and development, promotion, marketing and laboratory construction, including technical demonstration and research and development of ecological remediation issues or environmental issues in specific projects, localization of core products and key technologies, joint construction of ecological laboratories, enterprise technology centers and post-doctoral research workstations.

The Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences of the Chinese Academy of Sciences is China’s first nationwide comprehensive research institution in eco-environment. Centering on the strategic orientation of “National Eco-Environment Security and Sustainable Development” and giving full play to the comprehensive advantages and research strength of the three major disciplines of environmental science, environmental engineering and ecology, the research center is China’s basic research and technological innovation base for eco-environment science application, high-level specialized talent training base, and also China’s and the world’s top comprehensive eco-environment research institution. At present, there are 3 state key laboratories, 1 national engineering laboratory, 2 key laboratories of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, 5 institute-level laboratories and several support and service system platforms.

The State Key Laboratory of Urban and Regional Ecology is a state key laboratory established under the Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Based on ecology and integrating environmental science, geography, economics, sociology and other related disciplines, the laboratory focuses on urban and regional ecosystems and conducts research on the evolution and regulation mechanism of ecosystems under the pressure of human activities, and develop Compound Ecosystem Ecology in order to provide scientific and technological support for solving important eco-environmental problems in China and promoting the sustainable development of cities and regions.
